How Does It Work?
- Apply: First, apply for your passport like you normally would.
- Register: Make sure your mobile number is registered with your application.
- Text 9988: Once that’s done, you can send a text message to 9988.
- Stay Informed: You’ll start receiving SMS updates on your phone. These messages will keep you in the loop about where your passport is in the process.
What Will the SMS Updates Include?
You’ll get messages telling you when your application was received, how it’s progressing, when it’s being printed, and when it’s ready for delivery. So, you’ll always know what’s happening with your passport.
Making Token Distribution Better Too!
That’s not all! The government is also making it easier to get your passport. They’ve come up with a new schedule for giving out tokens at passport offices.
When Can You Get Tokens?
- From Monday to Thursday, you can get tokens from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- On Fridays, tokens will be available from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This new schedule is all about reducing wait times and making the whole passport process smoother.
